Get out your lace gloves, it's time for a tea party!
by Allison Ritto
Tea parties are not just for the under 6 and over 60 crowd anymore. Have your pals over for an afternoon of tea, card games, and some tasty grub. Pinkies up!
No tea set? You could wait for your great-aunt to keel over and leave you her wedding china. Or you could head to a thrift store or garage sale and buy some teacups and saucers. Why do they need to match? Just please wash the dust off them first. Then make the following recipes. Additional items for a full tea could include fruit salad, green salad, or petit fours (French for tiny pastel cakes that take forever to decorate).
Ask each guest to bring a box of tea so you have an assortment of black, green and herbal teas. Boil water. If you need help with that, please hit the "back" button on your browser, then go ask someone who has the patience, because that is not me.
The Menu:
Cucumber Sandwiches
Grown Up Tea Scones
