Issue 09 is dedicated to Mark Walliser.
California native Mark Walliser graduated with a Bachelors degree in English from Sierra Nevada College in 2006. His senior thesis, East of Paradise, West of Ego, a novel about addiction and recovery, was published in 2007 by Publish America.
Mark then continued to complete an MFA in Creative Writing and MA in English Literature from Chapman University in 2009. In his time at Chapman he attended workshops and classes with many of us here on the Litterbox staff, so we felt it necessary to express our grief at his untimely death this past summer and dedicate this issue to him. The literary world has lost another light, and we express our sympathy to his family and all of his friends.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
- Mark Twain
