Ian Cook paints landscape in a style that blends realism with abstract expressionism. His use of vibrant earth colors and meaty paint application form the hills and the land of the prairies in Alberta. Born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1971 Ian took to art as soon as he was able to hold a crayon. Ian attended Red Deer College in 1990-92 and earned a Associate Diploma in Fine Art. After Red Deer College he attended the University of Calgary and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) between 1992 and 1996 with a major in both painting and sculpture.
